Je ne sais pas si vous avez installé depuis les ports la nouvelle version de vlc, mais j'ai le même problème que ce monsieur :

Mon problème était sur la freebsd 7.1 et ça fonctionne avec la 8.0

En fait avec la 8.0 ça plante après quelques instants...
